Founded in 1975 by Dénes Szabó—who holds the prestigious title of "Artist of the Nation" in Hungary—the Cantemus Children's Choir has evolved from a group of senior students at the Kodály Primary School in Nyíregyháza into a world-class choral academy. Utilizing his profound mastery of the Kodály Method, Maestro Szabó has polished these young voices to a crystal-clear brilliance. Their precise harmony and spiritual resonance make them both the guardians of contemporary Hungarian musical heritage and recurring champions of major international competitions.
Praised for a tone "as clear as silver bells yet astoundingly layered," Cantemus interprets everything from Gregorian chants to complex contemporary commissions with flawless pitch. When these young singers take the stage in their traditional attire, they deliver more than pure, heavenly acoustics—they offer a profound sense of warmth and hope that transcends national borders.
Joining the tour for the first time, this choir is led by New Zealand conductor Elise Bradley and Shan-Min Yu. Developing a curriculum based on "Musical Theater" and "Choral Music," they provide a professional yet engaging artistic summer journey tailored for young singers.
As a leading local ensemble in Tainan directed by Ma-Pao Lee, MP Singers will share the stage to weave local soundscapes with international melodies, beautifully demonstrating the power of cross-border cultural exchange.
